Get found on the map, with your hours and your photos
Your Google Business Profile is the box that appears when someone searches for your business: the map, the phone number, the opening hours and the reviews. It’s free, it’s yours, and it’s almost always half done.

Why it matters more than your website
When someone searches for «locksmith near me» or for your business’s name, the first thing they see isn’t your website: it’s the map. That’s where they decide whether to call or keep scrolling. A profile with old opening hours, no photos or the wrong category leaves you out of that decision.
- The category is what counts: in the wrong one, Google shows you to people looking for something else.
- Wrong opening hours send someone to your door to find it closed. That gets paid for with a one-star review.
- Without recent photos, the business next door looks more serious than you, even when it isn’t.
- Unanswered reviews say nobody is looking after the business.
What I do in the set-up
A one-off payment of €182 incl. VAT. It’s done once, with you there if you like, and the profile stays in your name.
- I check whether the profile exists, whether it’s claimed and whether there are duplicate profiles for the same business
- Primary and secondary categories, which are what most affects who Google shows you to
- Name, address and phone number the same as on your website and social media
- Opening hours, public holidays and special hours for the holiday season
- A description written in your words, not in agency jargon
- Services and products added one by one
- Photos in order, with yours in and the ones that don’t belong out
- A link to your website, and a WhatsApp or booking button if it makes sense
- The first posts, and replies to any reviews left unanswered
- How to ask for reviews without being pushy: a short link or a QR code on the counter
If your profile says «Own this business?»
Then your profile exists but isn’t yours yet: anyone can suggest changes and you can’t reply to reviews.
Claiming it is free and takes a few minutes. Message me and I’ll tell you how to do it yourself, without charging you for it. If you’d rather I did it, it’s part of the set-up.
What’s not included
- Buying reviews or writing them: it’s fraud, it breaks Google’s rules and it ends with the profile suspended.
- Deleting bad reviews. They can be reported if they break a rule, but Google decides, not me.
- Promising you’ll be first on the map. Neither I nor anyone else can promise that.
- Paid Google ads.
What I do is leave the profile complete, consistent and alive. That’s what Google rewards, and it can be checked.
And afterwards, so it doesn’t stand still
A profile that’s been set up gets old: hours change, reviews come in, questions pile up. That’s why there’s an optional monthly plan.
- Monthly posts with whatever you want to say
- Reviews answered, including the bad ones
- Hours, holidays and details kept current
- New photos whenever you send them
- Its line in the monthly report: calls and directions that came from the profile
from €30/month
VAT included. No lock-in. You can take it on its own or together with the website: see the full maintenance plan.
Common questions
Is the profile mine or yours?
Yours. I come in as a manager with your permission, and you can remove that permission whenever you like without losing anything.
I don’t have premises; I go to my clients. Can I have a profile?
Yes. It’s set up as a service-area business: the address isn’t shown, the area you cover is. It’s the usual thing for plumbers, cleaners or locksmiths.
How long until it shows?
Changes go live within hours or days. Whether that brings in calls depends on your area and your competition: I show you the profile’s numbers every month and we look at them together.
I have two profiles for the same business.
It happens more than you’d think, and it splits your reviews between the two. They get merged or the extra one is removed; it’s part of the set-up.
Do I need a website?
No. Many businesses start with the profile, which is free and pays off sooner. The website comes later, when you want to say more than fits there.
My profile has been suspended.
It can be appealed. I tell you what caused it and what’s needed to get it back, although Google decides the outcome.
